Johnny Douglas
Johnny Douglas composed the music to the 1971 hit film The Railway Children, plus 37 other feature films. He was also known as a Musical Director, and string Arranger. He recorded over 500 tracks for DECCA and over 80 albums for RCA. In the 1980s, he composed and conducted music many video series, including the children's TV animation series Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, Dungeons & Dragons, The Incredible Hulk, and The Transformers.
He was born in Hackney, London, England, on June 19, 1920, and died on April 20, 2003.
Douglas was a prolific Musical Director, Arranger, Composer, Broadcaster, Recording Artist & Film Music Composer. He was one of England’s masters of string arranging. In 1983 he started his own record label Dulcima Records which is still thriving today digitally re-mastering many of the albums he recording for RCA and releasing them on CD. Read more on Last.fm.
